  • I am a film photographer. What that means for me is that I take my time and really look for unique moments during our session to photograph. During our session together I will be intentional about when I click my shutter and provide you with a truly unique take on your family or motherhood experience.

    I believe that….

-Newborns are perfect just the way they are.

-Kids should be free to truly be themselves.

-Family is everything and there is nothing more important.

-You and your family are perfect in all your imperfections and it makes you even more special and worth capturing!

-Remembering how you felt is much more photo worthy than how perfect you looked.

-Motherhood is a journey and all parts of it are worth honoring and remembering.

  • I have been using a camer since I was a child. My mother documented my whole life and I followed in those footsteps with point and shoot disposable cameras as a kid. It wasn’t until highschool that I got a real camera in my hands and fell in love with developing film and working in the dark room. I have spent more than half my life using cameras and I have 15 in my collection!

  • Motherhood is a broad phrase that describes all parts of a mother’s journey. Motherhood sessions can be scheduled for pregnancy (maternity), brith/fresh 48/newborn phase, mommy and me, or just intimate portraits of yourself.

Motherhood sessions are for all seasons fo the motherhood journey.

  • All sessions will take place in the comfort of your own home or in my studio space in Buckley WA. All sessions are approximately 2 hours long. Giving us enough time to tell your whole story.

  • There are 2 reasons why I no longer photograph sessions outside.

    1. The outdoor location never really meant that much to me in terms of the overall meaning of the photos. I knew my locations for best light but beyond that they weren’t a huge piece of my art. What I focus on is human connection. I believe that the best place to document your story and your connection with your people is in your home! The place that you create many of your most important memories and your safe space to let your hair down and be your true selves.

    2. This is the PNW and having to reschedule for rain has been the biggest pain. Having a session indoors is a guarantee that we won’t ever have to reschedule to do weather. I also have the option of a studio space that will provide another indoor option for you as well.

  • Motherhood sessions for maternity or pregnancy typically are scheduled in the 32nd-35th week of pregnancy. Flexibility is key with me because I know that things in pregnancy can change and come up that would require you to have a sessions earlier. So don’t hesitate to reach out! You can contact me at the bottom of this FAQ to ask any questions!

  • Typically Newborn photos take place within 4 weeks of birth. But if for any reason it can’t be done in the first 4 weeks that’s ok! Lifestyle photography allows for babies to be photographed past the “newborn” stage. I also do not intricately pose babies or require them to stay sleepy so there’s no restriction on how many days old they are.

  • As of January 1st 2024 I will no longer be doing extended family sessions. If you would like recommendations for some great photographers who do, I would be happy to point you in their direction. Just ask!

  • I have a pinterest board available for visual aids on what to wear as well as a free guide on how to style your family. Seeing options will help inspire you to choose your outfit, but here are a few things to keep in mind:

-I always recommend that mom pick her outfit out first and then coordinate the rest of the family’s outfits.

-Do not match in the same color but rather coordinate using complimentary colors and shades. I always suggest neutrals or earth tones.

-The most important thing is that you look and feel just like yourselves and wear clothes that make you feel good and comfortable.

-A few things to avoid are clothing items with big logos or lettering, and bold patterns or neon colors.

After you book your session we will be in touch via email and text. I will send you voice memos and send emails with lot of prep. I’ll be there for all your questions and styling suggestions.

  • Within 4-6 weeks, depending on the season of our session, you will receive a link to your online gallery. From there you will be able to download your images directly from the gallery and share with friends and family.

  • With in your gallery is an online store where you can order prints and photo products. Having the store in the gallery makes it so easy to get your photos printed with out the hassle of uploading to another app.

  • You have invested your time, money and energy in booking and planning this photo session. These photos should be honored by being displayed! It is my belief that photos are best viewed printed, not just on our phones or computers. Lots of moms tell me that they are busy and just haven’t gotten around to printing their photos so I make it easy for you to have something ready to display, delivered right to your door and ready to be enjoyed by your whole family for years to come. See more on my thoughts about printing your photos here.

  • It is best to book maternity with me few months in advance. I typically leave space open each month for 1 fresh 48 and newborns, however these are the majority of what I photograph so please reach out well in advance.
