Brooke Holliday

A Mother, An Artist, A Witness to Your Story

I’m Brooke Holliday

a Tacoma-based film photographer devoted to capturing the profound beauty of motherhood and family life. As a mother myself, I understand the depth, complexity, and quiet ache of these seasons. My work is an invitation to pause, to see, and to be seen.

There are only 3 rules.

NO GUARDS OR WALLS,

NO EXPECTATIONS AND

ESPECIALLY NO PRESSURE TO PERFORM.

Photography as an Artful Collaboration

I approach every session as a conversation—a partnership between us. You bring your presence, your story, your people. I bring film, light, and intuition. We co-create something that feels like memory: textured, honest, and full of heart.

A Personal Note:

When my oldest daughter was born, I took a photograph of her resting on my chest—milk-drunk, wrinkled, and perfect. It was the middle of the night and her father was asleep in the frame, just barely. We were exhausted, undone, completely in love. That image is still one of my most cherished. Not because it’s flawless, but because it reminds me: this is what it felt like.

That’s what I want to give you.

FEELINGS MOVE US. EMOTIONS INSPIRE US. NOSTALGIA KEEPS US ENAMORED.

“BROOKE DOES SUCH AN AMAZING JOB MAKING YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AND ABLE TO BE YOUR SELF. SHE REALLY CAPTURES WHAT MAKES EACH OF US UNIQUE.”

WhY I Love Film

Film slows me down. It makes me pay attention.
It invites softness and intention, qualities I believe motherhood asks of us every day.
The grain, the light, the imperfection… they all add up to something more soulful than a perfect image. They make it real.

What I Value

  • Mothers feeling safe, seen, and beautiful in their own skin

  • A slower, more intentional approach to family photography

  • Emotional depth and quiet luxury over trends or perfection

  • Photographs that feel as good as they look

“The world moves fast. My work asks it to slow down—for just long enough to notice what matters most.”

If any part of this feels like a reflection of your own story, I’d be honored to work together.
This isn’t just about photographs, it’s about creating something you’ll return to, again and again.
