Meet the Artist:

Brooke Holliday

A Mother. An Artist. A Witness to Your Story.

I’m Brooke Holliday

I photograph film maternity, newborn, motherhood, and family sessions for creative, thoughtful mothers who are tired of generic photos. Together we design sessions around your real life so you can actually see yourself in the story your kids will remember.

I’m here for the moms who care about art and also care about the small, ordinary moments that actually make up a childhood.

A smiling couple, woman with long hair and earrings, man with curly hair, hugging each other on a beach with cliffs in the background, black and white photo.
A woman with two young girls, one in her arms and another beside her, sharing a joyful moment against a plain wall background.

Why I photograph mothers

I’m a mom too. I know what it feels like to hold a lot and barely see yourself in the photos.

Some of my favorite memories with my kids are the small, ordinary things
wet hair after bath time, full-body hugs on the couch, arms wrapped around my waist while I make dinner. Those are the kinds of moments I’m looking for with you.

My work is about making sure there is proof you were there too not as an afterthought, but at the center with your kids.

Why film

I use film because it slows everything down and changes how I shoot.

  • More intention
Fewer frames means I’m watching closely instead of firing off hundreds of shots.

  • Soft look
Film handles light and skin in a way that feels gentle and not overly edited.

  • More presence
I’m not glued to the back of a camera. I’m with you and your kids, noticing the small things.

For you, that means fewer but stronger images that look like your real life and will still feel good years from now.

What it feels like to work together

I don’t arrive with a rigid shot list and ask you to fit into it. We build your session together.

  • You fill out a deeper questionnaire so I can understand your family and your home

  • We trade ideas over email or text and shape a plan that feels like you

  • On session day, I guide gently and also give you space to settle into your real rhythm with your kids

I expect kids to act like kids. I’m not here to judge your house or your parenting. I’m here to notice how you love your children and to put that into photographs.

A bit of me, outside of work

When I’m not photographing, you’ll usually find me at home with my kids, making simple meals, tidying a little, stepping over toys, and trying to slow down enough to actually see them.

That’s the energy I bring to sessions calm, curious, and grounded. I take the work seriously, but I want it to feel relaxed and human for you.

If this sounds like what you want

If you’re ready for photos that feel like your real life and finally include you with your kids, I’d love to work together.
