Meet the Artist:

Brooke Holliday

A Mother. An Artist. A Witness to Your Story.

I’m Brooke Holliday

I’m a Seattle-area family, maternity and newborn photographer capturing honest, emotional images of motherhood and family life.

Like many parents, I wanted to photograph my own family because I realized how quickly childhood moves. The little moments that feel ordinary today become the memories we treasure most.

Photography has always been a creative outlet, but turned into a way to help families preserve their story.

Today I work with families across Seattle and Tacoma who want photographs that feel natural, meaningful, and true to their lives.

A smiling couple, woman with long hair and earrings, man with curly hair, hugging each other on a beach with cliffs in the background, black and white photo.
A woman with two young girls, one in her arms and another beside her, sharing a joyful moment against a plain wall background.

My Approach

My approach to photography is simple:

Your session shouldn’t feel like a performance.

Children don’t need to behave perfectly.
Homes don’t need to be spotless.
And families don’t need to pose unnaturally.

Instead, I gently guide you through a relaxed experience that allows real connection to unfold.

The laughter.
The snuggles.
The beautiful chaos of family life.

Those are the moments that create photographs you’ll treasure forever.

Why film

I photograph primarily on film because it creates soft, timeless images with a depth and texture that digital photography often can't replicate.

Film slows the process down and encourages intentional storytelling, something that aligns deeply with how I see family life.

The result is imagery that feels both artistic and deeply authentic.

What it feels like to work together

I don’t arrive with a rigid shot list and ask you to fit into it. We build your session together.

  • You fill out a deeper questionnaire so I can understand your family and your home

  • We trade ideas over email or text and shape a plan that feels like you

  • On session day, I guide gently and also give you space to settle into your real rhythm with your kids

I expect kids to act like kids. I’m not here to judge your house or your parenting. I’m here to notice how you love your children and to put that into photographs.

A bit of me, outside of work

When I’m not photographing families, you’ll likely find me spending time with my own children, enjoying the slower rhythms of everyday life, or documenting the little moments that make up our family story.

Motherhood has shaped the way I see the world, and it’s at the heart of how I photograph the families I work with.

Book your Session

I know how meaningful these photographs will become over time.

Not just for you, but for your children someday.

It’s an incredible honor to document these seasons for the families who trust me with their memories.
